Ecomuseu de les Valls d’Àneu
Casa Gassia, an 18th century old house, is located in the center of the old district of Esterri d’Àneu.
It is a magnificent building, an example of an agro-livestock house representative of a time when the base of the local economy was, almost exclusively, peasantry and cattle breeding.
Casa Gassia maintains its original structure, an ideal setting to show the singularities of family life and home space in these Pyrenean valleys during the first half of the century.
Starting from the exhibit units that are offered, you will thoroughly take into account the activities carried out inside a house, the relationships that were established between the members who lived it, how they shared tasks and responsibilities for the home and how the main factors of change have been made since then.
